104 * NOT OUT ISRO

Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) created history by successfully launching 104 satellite into the orbit in a single mission, and by doing this miracle India has beaten all other space agency in the field of maximum satellite launching in a single mission. ISRO not only launched them but also successfully placed them in their respective orbits without any damage.

These satellites were launched on board of Polar Satellite Launching Vehicle PSLV - C37 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. And with this successful launch PSLV has become the most reliable space rocket.

KEY FACTS -

  • Out of 104 satellite, only 3 were Indians and rest were of international customers.
  • 96 satellites were of US.
  • One satellite of Switzerland, Netherlands, Kazaskthan, Israel and UAE each were also in the mission.
  • Indian satellites include CARTOSAT - 2, INS 1A and INS 1B.
  • CARTOSAT was the primary payload with the weight of 714 kgs whereas the rest were nano satellites together weigh around 664 kgs.
During the Kargil War, when India asked for help from America to use their GPS to tell India about the location of Pakistanis troops, America rejected it. But today India placed 96 satellites of USA and has also developed our own indigenously built GPS system IRNSS.

India has not only crushed his own record of 20 satellites in one mission but also surpassed the world record that was previously held by Russia of 39 satellites in one mission. No other private of public space agency is even close to ISRO.

ISRO rates of launching and placing the satellites in 10 times less than any other space agency and ISRO also has highest success ratio due to which now other countries are preferring ISRO for space missions.

ISRO is also planning missions for Mars and Moon again and is also preparing itself for human missions. Mission to Venus is also on radar.

The Great Indian Political Circus

The drama of Tamil Nadu's politics that was triggered by O. Paneersellevam when he went against Shasikala popularly known as Chinamma has now taken a new turn.

The battle for the Cheif Minister's position in Tamil Nadu takes a dramatic turn when the SC judgement makes Shasikala and other as guilty over a case of that was born during the first term of Amma's CM tenure.

Jaylalita the late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu was found guilty of having disproportionate wealth as high as 66 crores during his 1st term as the Chief Minister of TamilNadu ie. during 1991 - 1996.

FIR against them was lodged by Subramanyam Swami. The special court on 27th September 2014 convicted four accused ( Jaylalita and Shasika being two of them ) and sentenced them 4 years of simple imprisonment. Jaylalita was serving as the CM of Tamil Nadu at the time of this decision but she resigned as the court sentenced her imprisonment.  O. Paneersellevam was appointed as the CM of Tamil Nadu at that time.

However, the Karnataka High Court overturned the decision. The case was transferred to Karnataka High Court to avoid any undue advantage of popularity to Amma. Jaylalita returned to the power in May 2015. But today ( Feb 14, 2017) Supreme Court gave his final decision on this matter and again sentenced four years of simple imprisonment to all four accused.

But this decision of Supreme Court came when the Political Drama in Tamil Nadu was at its peak. This decision has put an end to Shasikala's political ambitions. After the imprisonment, Shasikala can not fight election for 6 years, which means she has to stay away from politics for 10 years.

On the other hand, the same decision may help Paneersellevam who claimed that Amma wanted him to be the next CM of Tamil Nadu. Some news reports are claiming that many MLA s who were supporting Shasikala have now taken Pannersellevem side after the SC judgement. Governor will ask to prove the majority in the assembly and present situation says that Paneersellevam will get some advantages. However, nothing can be said about the future, but one thing is clear whatever the result may be it will come after high tension drama.

NAGALAND CRISES

In Nagaland, the conflict between the C.M. T R Zeliang and the rest of the state has taken a violent form when two of the volunteer of the urban local body elections late Bendangnungsung and late Kriesavizo were shot in Police firing on 31st Jan 2017. Various tribal representatives have formed Nagaland Tribe action Committee. The committee has said to the Governor that they will not bury the bodies without the reply of the state government regarding the demands of the Committee. However the Governor of Nagaland, Mr. PB Acharya has told the committee that they will take actions against as per the constitution and has shown deep grievances towards the people died and injured.

The main demand of the Committee are-

1. The Chief Minister along the council should resign.

2. The Urban Local Body election held presently should be                   declared null and void.

3. The erring police officer and personnel should be suspended             immediately.

However, no positive reply has been given by the Govt which is giving more oxygen to the violence. The Kohima municipal office was set ablaze by the Naga tribes.

WHAT CREATED THIS PROBLEM-

However, the main issues behind this trouble are the 33% reservation for the women in the Urban Local Body elections which is not getting support from the male dominated Naga.

All the major organisation appealed the state government to not hold the elections and to withdraw the reservation for the women.

However, the state government announced the notification of the elections along with the reservation for the women against the will of the state, which resulted in chaos.

A number of organisations have declared that the one who will support the election and reservation will be declared anti-naga. They said it will be against the Article 371 A of the Indian constitution which provides special privilege to the Nagaland and its customary laws. This special status is the result of Nagas struggle and sacrifices and anyone going against it will we declared anti naga and will be excommunicated.

The case has been listened by the SC over 18 occasions and the previous Advocate General has pleaded the court that this infringes upon the article 371 A.

CAN FREE TRADE BETWEEN NATION CAN CREATE PROBLEM ?

Before starting the article it is necessary to understand what actually is free trade. Free trade generally means that a country can export its product to another country without giving any export duty (or import duty for the importer country) or minimum duty.

Free trade is very helpful in boosting relationship between two nations and can be used for improving the infrastructure and economy. By the help of free trades a nation lure other to export commodities to them. Free trade helps in keeping the final product price low, Ex- if the raw material is brought cheap than the end product will also be cheap.

So, basically it sounds like free trade are the best way to grow economy and boost international relations but there is always a second face of the coin. Despite having a number of positive figures free trade also has some darker sides.

A nation which is producing a commodity on a large scale will try to sell it to the other nations to earn income, so they make sure that there price should be lower than the commodity which is indigenously produced within the other nation. A nation buying that cheaper material is directly or indirectly influencing the jobs and market of its own citizens that are producing that commodity within the territorial boundaries. Ex- In 1928 the European farms were able to sell the agricultural products to USA at cheaper rate, which took the job of number of farmers in the USA. As a result the Congress passed a bill which imposed tax on the agricultural products imported from European farms. That makes the import costlier and favored the American farmers.

Free trade agreements are like series of compromise between two nation to keep a balance on tax and to make sure that they have other resources to so that they didn't fall out with the fall out of one nation. Another example is the Free trade agreement between the USA, Canada and Mexico known as North America Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), it minimizes the taxes to an extent that it became cheaper to buy agricultural product from Mexico which again hurt the favor of American farmers and high number of people lost their jobs.

Now let us take example from India 2 to 3 days back Japan threaten India to take him to the World Trade Organisation aka WTO ( an organisation that maintains the rules and regulation regarding international trade) as India has increased the tax on steel import from Japan which makes India the 15th largest steel importer from Japan which was 6th in the 2015. Japan is saying that India is violating the rules and regulations were as India has done it so to for the benefit of local mills and is saying that every thing done is under rule.

So the conclusion is that Free trade agreement one side can provide cheap products to the peoples but with the other hand it took jobs of thousands or even millions.

PARLIAMENT WINTER SESSION OR WASTE SESSION

Before the starting of the Parliament winter session everyone was knowing the fact that this winter session will bring a lot of heat as major political parties opposing the demonetization were ready to enclose the Government.

But this is the part of our Democratic system as a healthy discussion and questions prevent the arbitrary rule of center. But during this winter session the heat became to hot that it even disturbed the regular working of the parliament and leaved no space for an healthy discussion which is expected in the Parliament specially when lot of money (which is collected from us in the form of tax) is spent on daily sitting. The session starts on November, 16th and ended on December, 16th without any major work.

Demonetization the center of Chaos-

Demonetization is praised by number of national and international personalities and many opposed it. Some one calling it a surgical strike on black money and someone specifying it as the biggest currency scam or something like that, in short someone is in favor and some are not. This debate in the country is still trending and spreading like a wild fire with everyone trying to prove their side right.

It is the duty of the parliament to conduct their business properly, answer the questions raised by the ministers (which are actually questions of the public), quench this fire of debate going across the country. But unfortunately this didn't happens this time as majority of time was wasted shouting, chaos and protest.

Analysis by a Delhi based think tank PRS Legislative, which tracks the functionality of Indian Parliament found that the productivity of Lok Sabha this winter session was about 14 % and of Rajya Sabha was about 20%. PRS also showed that Rajya Sabha spent zero hour on questions, whereas, th Lok Sabha spent 5.1 hours. (Data from firstpost.com).

Lok Sabha passed 13 bills whereas Rajya Sabha only 09. The question hour was interrupted badly and only few questions were answered properly. Since NDA is not in majority in the Rajya Sabha the protest against them was greater their and hence the productivity of Rajya Sabha was lower than the Lok Sabha.

THE POLITICAL DRAMA-

Congress with other political party protested against the Central Government and claimed the demonetization to be a scam.

Rahul Gandhi said during a press conference that he has proof of this scam and he will show them in parliament.

However later he claimed that he is not allowing to speak in Parliament. On the other side the Honorable PM Narendra Modi is saying the he is the one who is not getting chance to speak in the Parliament.

Central Government also said that they want a discussion on demonetization but the opposition is not ready for it. However the opposition has completely opposite views.

Speaker Madam Sumitra Mahajan, Chairman Sir Hamid Ansari and the President of India have already accepted that the precious time which might have been used for public welfare got wasted in the Parliament.

Many of the leaders want debate in the parliament on demonetization issue but non of them is actually doing so. Blaming each other and not listening.

HEALTHY DISCUSSION??

Don't you think that if one person should be allowed to speak and asking questions at a time and then other should be given time to answer those questions can create a healthy discussion environment. Don't you think there must be a proper rule of this.

Many of us want the debate system like in USA for the elections but when our leaders are not debating where they should, do you think they will debate in public during elections. Well this is just an example our Constitution has provided a systematic format which everyone political party follows. But I think all of them have found a loophole which at last results in chAos and protest inside the parliament.

Protesting is a good custom and it should be followed as it is our right to ask questions about any action of the Government, but when this same thing happens inside a place which is built to run a country people start loosing faith on the Constitution and working of our Government.

This is known as the famous "Cuba Missile Crises". It was very dramatic and proved to be one of the most dangerous situation in the history of this modern world.

  • Kennedy said that "any attack from the Cuba on any of the country in western hemisphere will be the attack of Soviet Union on America". This resulted in the deterioration of America and Cuba relations and they end up all diplomatic relations too by 1961.
  • Fidel officially declared Cuba as Socialist and captured all foreign assents and distributed among Cubans. He done all possible things to prove the world that his state is not an American colony in the meantime he was also careful not to be shown as Soviet puppet.

  • In 2008 he decided to not return to his office. He claimed that USA tried over 600 times to assassinate him.
  • On November,26 2016 he took his last breath in Santiago Di, Cuba. But before leaving this world his tiny but powerful state was able to challenge the superpower of the world. Some of them consider him as a hero, some not. But he proved that a strong will power can challenge any other power regardless of its status and size.
